Update or change license file

  1. The license file needs to be placed into the license folder of the Pointsharp ID installation. Pointsharp ID will automatically use the latest license file available. Default location: C:\Program Files\PointSharp\PointSharp ID\license

  2. Restart the Pointsharp ID Service to enable change of license file.

  3. Verify new license information on the General tab in Pointsharp ID Admin GUI.

  4. Verify that the license file has not been blocked by Windows if copied between servers. This is done by right-clicking the license file once copied into the license folder, and check the properties of the license file. If blocked, a checkbox will be displayed.

If Pointsharp ID Admin GUI was opened during the license update or used to restart the service, it has to be closed and opened again in order to display the updated license information on the general tab.

License issue — correct amount not displayed or new users not allowed

If the license file contains more than 1000 users but only 1000 are shown — or an upgrade of the license has been made but any users above 1000 does not show or work.

  1. Open Pointsharp ID Admin GUI and go to Tools and System Settings

  2. Check the Use Paged Search checkbox to enable PointSharp ID to perform LDAP searches using so-called LDAP paging.

If Active Directory is used as Pointsharp Storage or User Storage, it is recommended to enable this due to a default parameter of maximum search results set to 1000.
