Install Net iD Group Policy Object Editor (Net iD GPOE)

Prerequisites

The Group Policy Management Console (GPMC) and .NET Framework must be installed on computers used to manage the Group Policy Objects with Net iD settings.

.NET Framework 4.5.1, 4.6, and 4.7 are supported.

GPMC and .NET Framework is automatically shipped with Microsoft Windows ServerĀ 2008 and higher versions. You only need to enable the features via the Server Manager as shown below.

System requirements

Net iD GPOE can be installed on the following operating system:

  • Windows Server 2022

  • Windows Server 2019

  • Windows Server 2016

  • Windows 11 (Requires RSAT: Group Policy Management Tools)

  • Windows 10 (Requires RSAT: Group Policy Management Tools)

Net iD GPOE is dependent on the following components:

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 in Windows Server 2022

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7 in Windows Server 2019

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 in Windows Server 2016

Install Net iD GPOE

Net iD GPOE is available to customers with a support agreement and must be installed on all computers that will be used to manage Group Policy Objects containing Net iD settings.

Follow the wizard in Net_iD_GPOE_Setup_[version].exe to complete the installation. The installation requires administrative privileges.
