Export, import, and delete settings

Export settings

All Net iD settings in a Group Policy can be saved to a file and then imported into any other Group Policy Object including other Active Directory domains. To export all Net iD settings configured in a Group Policy follow this procedure:

  1. Select the Client settings node and then click the Export settings button as shown below.

  2. In the Export settings to file dialog box, select the folder where the file should be saved, and then enter the filename.

  3. Click Save.

The file will be saved as a ZIP file.

Import settings

Preconfigured Net iD settings can be imported from file to easily create a new Net iD configuration that can be deployed to client computers. To import Net iD settings into the Group Policy being edited follow this procedure:

  1. Select the Client settings node and the click the Import settings button as shown below.

  2. In the Import settings from file dialog box, select the ZIP file to import into the Group Policy Object.

Delete configuration

To delete all Net iD settings from the Group Policy Object being edited, click the Delete settings button as shown below.
A confirmation dialog is shown before all settings are removed.

Instead of deleting the configuration by using Net iD GPO you can prevent Net iD settings from being deployed to client computers by using the Group Policy Management Console. Just disable or delete the Group Policy link.
