Multiple Domino server environments

In order to use a multiple Domino server environment, the following should be considered:

  • The upload of the e-mails takes place from a single Domino server.

  • Domino server rules can only copy/forward emails within the specific Domino server on which they are running (not across Domino servers).

CS4N&D has limited cluster compatibility. This is because file uploads from CS4N&D to the Cryptshare web server must always originate from a dedicated Domino server. While replicas can be created on the cluster servers and populated with outgoing emails if needed, the file upload will not occur if the Domino server responsible for the upload fails. Once this Domino server is back online, all emails in the outgoing mail folders will be processed and sent.

The CS4N application is installed on DomSrv01. DomSrv02 (branch server) is set up to replicate with DomSrv01. There are two possibilities to transfer emails from DomSrv02 to DomSrv01:

  1. Implement the CS4N Forwarder application. All emails from DomSrv02 will be transferred with help from Domino server rules to the CS4N Forwarder application. The CS4N Forwarder application periodically copies all of its emails to the CS4N application on DomSrv01. They will then be processed on DomSrv01 as normal.

  2. Create a replica of CS4N on the respective Domino servers. (v2.10 or newer) Create a replica on the branch server DomSrv02. Redirect all emails from DomSrv02 using Domino server rules to this replica. Once replication occurs, emails will replicate to DomSrv01. They will then be processed on DomSrv01 as normal.

Ensure the configuration of the Upload agent in the CS4N application is correct.
