Large file handling
| All values listed here, should be defined in CS4OutlookAdminConfig.xml. |
Threshold for automatic activation (MB)
If files are being attached to a regular Outlook message and the total size of the files exceeds this limit, Cryptshare will be activated automatically.
Valid values
-
Set the threshold to any value between 0 and 10240 MB (=10 GB).
-
If you set the value to "0", all messages with file attachments are always sent via Cryptshare.
-
To disable the feature in the configuration file CS4OutlookAdminConfig.xml, set the value to "-1".
Email size limit in MS Exchange
The auto-activation threshold has to be set to a lower value than the email size limit in MS Exchange. Otherwise, the following error message will be displayed when attaching larger files and Cryptshare for Outlook (Classic) will not auto-activate. This error message cannot be suppressed by Cryptshare for Outlook (Classic). The default size limit for email attachments on the MS Exchange Server is 20 MB.
Keep sent attachments smaller than (MB)
If an outgoing message contains file attachments, Cryptshare for Outlook (Classic) offers you the ability to retain the files as attachments to the message kept in the folder "Sent Items".
However, files sent via Cryptshare may be very large and could exceed size limits on the mail server side when your "Sent Items" folder is synchronized with the server. Therefore, a size limit for files kept in "Sent items" can be defined.
If the total file size of attachments exceed this limit, the files are not stored in Sent Items, but only the file names of the attachments are kept in the message.
Valid values
-
Set the limit to any value between 0 and 10240 MB (=10 GB).
-
Set the value to 0 MB to completely prevent saving attachments into "Sent Items".
Limit and Warning threshold
In addition to the limit for keeping files, a warning threshold can be defined.
Show warning when saving sent attachments larger than (MB)
If an outgoing message contains file attachments, Cryptshare for Outlook (Classic) offers you the ability to retain the files as attachments to the message kept in the folder "Sent Items". However, files sent via Cryptshare may be very large and could exceed size limits on the mail server side when your "Sent Items" folder is synchronized with the server.
Therefore, a size warning threshold for files kept in "Sent items" can be defined. If the total size of the files exceeds this warning threshold, you are asked whether you want to save the files as attachments to the message in "Sent Items" or not.
If the answer to the question is "No", only the file names in the message are stored in "Sent Items".
Valid values
-
Set this value to any size between 0 MB and 10240 MB (=10 GB).
-
If you set the value to 0, a warning will always be displayed when a sent file should be saved.
Disable Warning
To deactivate the warning, set the warning threshold identical to the limit for keeping file attachments in "Sent Items".
Import incoming attachments smaller than (MB)
If an incoming transfer includes files, Cryptshare for Outlook offers you the option to import the files to your inbox.
However, files received via Cryptshare can be very large and could exceed size limits on the mail server side when your inbox is synchronized with the server. Therefore, a size limit for importing files can be set.
If the files exceed this limit, the files are not imported into the Inbox, but stored on the hard drive of your workstation. The imported message will then include not the files, but links to the files on the hard disk, as well as a link to the containing directory so that they can easily be found and opened directly from the message.
Prevent importing files
-
Set this value to any size between 0 MB and 10240 MB (=10 GB).
-
Setting the value to 0 will prevent the import of files.
Import Limit and Warning threshold
In addition to the import limit, a warning threshold can be defined.
Show warning when importing attachments larger than (MB)
If an incoming transfer includes files, Cryptshare for Outlook (Classic) offers you the option to import these files to your inbox. However, files received via Cryptshare can be very large and could exceed size limits on the mail server side when your inbox is synchronized with the server.
Therefore, a warning threshold can be defined for the import. If the total size of the files exceeds this warning threshold, you are asked whether you want to import the files into your Inbox or not. If not, they are stored on the hard drive of your workstation. The message then shows links to the relevant files and to the parent directory they are part of, so that the files can be quickly found and opened directly.
Valid values
-
Set the warning threshold to any value between 0 and 10240 MB (=10 GB).
-
If you set the value to 0, a warning will always be displayed when importing a file.
Disable warning
Set the warning threshold equal to the limit for import in order to prevent a warning.
