Net iD Administration

This section describes administration of tokens in Net iD Enterprise.

Start Administration

Windows

Start Net iD Administration via 000055 icon in taskbar, and right click and then select Administration.

To start Net iD Administration via the command prompt:

  1. Type "C:\Program Files\Net iD\iid.exe" -admin

  2. Press Enter.

OS X/macOS

Start Net iD Administration via Applications  Utilities  Net iD or search Net iD using Spotlight.

Start Net iD Administration via Dash or the terminal:

$ iidxapp

Content

  1. Click on the smart card or soft token.

  2. Click Content to show information about the token.

  3. The available information is:

    • Information about your smart card or soft token. Description, serial number, applet and card reader name.

    • A list of all certificates stored on token and usage.

    • Click the 000073 button to show more information about the certificate, for example issuer info.

Change password

  1. Select token and Change password if you want to change any of your current passwords.

  2. Select the PIN you want to change.

  3. Enter current password in Enter PIN.

  4. Enter new password in New PIN.

  5. Confirm new password in Confirm new PIN.

  6. Click OK to complete the change.

Unlock password

  1. Select token and Unlock password to set a new PIN using an unlock code if you have locked your PIN.

  2. Select the PIN you want to unlock.

  3. Enter the unlock code in Enter PIN. The unlock code has probably been given to you by the smart card issuer or your organization when you got your smart card.

  4. Enter the new password in New PIN.

  5. Confirm the new password in Confirm new PIN.

  6. Click OK to complete the unlocking.

Delete soft token

Select Delete to remove your soft token.

After deleting the soft token will not be able to be used for authentication, signing or decryption of any information.

Language

Click on active language, for example US at the bottom right corner in Administration to change language in Net iD.

Tracing

Tracing is normally only used for troubleshooting when a problem has occurred that needs to be reported to SecMaker support.

  1. Activate trace to create a log file in Net iD.

  2. Click 000082 to open the log file.

  3. Deactivate trace after log file has been created and saved.

Click About at the bottom left corner in Administration to view information about software.
