QUICK — a permanent secure connection

QUICK will automatically manage security for all future transfers between you and the recipient, without having to use passwords. QUICK uses cookies instead of a real password.

Use QUICK to establish a permanent secure connection to the recipient.

QUICK transfers are only available via the Web App.

Activate QUICK

To get started, Cryptshare sends an invitation that needs to be secured with a one-time password. Once the QUICK connection with the recipient is activated, entering passwords is no longer necessary.

Activate QUICK from the Web App start page:

You can set up or restore QUICK for the selected email address on another client.

  1. Click Activate QUICK.

  2. Select the email address you want to use on the other client with QUICK.

  3. Click Generate to create an activation code.

  4. Start the activation on the other client and enter the code there.

QUICK on the sender side

The system automatically detects whether an activation of QUICK is required or not. If an activation is necessary, the activation options will be presented to the user:

  • Activate by yourself

    • Obtain a QUICK activation code from another client.

  • Administrative activation

    • Obtain a QUICK activation code from an administrator.

  • Reset

    • Discard all QUICK connections and create new access credentials.

  1. Create the confidential message, click Next.

  2. Under Security Settings click the QUICK button.

  3. Click Generate password, or Enter password of your own choice.

  4. Proceed with the file and message transfer.

Please share the password with the recipient!

Established connection

If you have been verified already, the verification step is skipped automatically.

QUICK on the recipient side

If the sender has invited you to use QUICK for a permanent secure connection, you will receive a link to activate QUICK together with the encrypted message.

  1. Click Download files in the email.

  2. Enter the verification code or password provided to you by the sender.

  3. Click Activate QUICK.

  4. If your email has not yet been verified on the Cryptshare Server, you will need to enter the verification code in this step. The verification code is automatically sent to your email.

  5. Click Next to get back to the download.

Established connection

If there is an active, established QUICK connection with the sender, you can start the download immediately. Entering a password or a verification code is not required. QUICK automatically manages the passwords that protect the data.
