Default demo license

When a new Net iD Portal 6 database is installed, a built-in demo license is created automatically. This demo license is intended for evaluation and test environments only and has the following limitations:

Validity period

90 days from creation

Maximum number of users

100 users

Once the demo license expires or the user limit is reached, a customer license is required.

Customer licenses

A customer license defines how Net iD Portal may be used in a customer environment, for example the number of users and the period of validity.

  1. The customer license is generated by Pointsharp and delivered as a signed license file.

  2. The license is digitally signed using XMLDSig (XML signature) and a dedicated signing certificate to help ensure integrity and authenticity.

  3. The signed license is imported into Net iD Portal using the license update functionality.

  4. After import, the currently active license information, such as validity and usage, is available in the portal UI or through reporting or both.

License generation is handled by Pointsharp. Customers do not create or sign their own licenses.

Client licenses

A client license defines how Net iD Client software may be used together with Net iD Portal, and is issued by Pointsharp for use in the customer’s environment.

Client licenses are generated and provided by Pointsharp.
